IRAS Software Update

The firmware that is loaded onto each of these machines is different.

 

 

 

 

 

Upgrading the Firmware to the DVR using the USB device

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1: Shut down the DVR system through the menu selection “System Shutdown”.

 

 

Step 2: Remove power to the DVR by unplugging the power cord at the back of the unit or the AC outlet. With the power OFF, plug the USB device into the DVR.

 

 

Step 3: Plug the power cord back into the DVR or AC outlet to restore power to the unit.

 

 

Step 4: After the DVR boots up, press the MENU button and enter the admin password. (Note: If the password has not been changed, the default password is 4321.)

 

 

Step 5: From the menu select SYSTEM INFORMATION.
At the top of the System Information screen the current firmware version will be displayed.
If the current version is the latest release then updating is not necessary. No further action is required.

 

 

Step 6:Highlight the CHANGE option and select Enter..

 

 

Step 7: Highlight the UPGRADE option and select Enter. To view the selectable files on the USB device press Enter on the file box. The options are:

"Select the appropriate file for the DVR model being upgraded then press Enter."

 

 

Step 8: Select the START option and a window will appear saying “System must register to upgrade. Continue?” Select the YES option and the Password screen will appear. Enter your password (Note: the default password is 4321) then select OK.

 

 

Step 9: The upgrade process will cause the unit to restart automatically. This process will take approximately 3-5 minutes. DO NOT shut the unit OFF during the upgrade process.

 

 

Step 10: At the completion of the upgrade the DVR will reboot and the unit will return to the previous mode of the operation prior to the upgrade.

 

 

Step 11: Remove the USB device from the DVR.

 

 

Step 12: Confirm that the new firmware has been loaded on the unit by selecting the SYSTEM INFORMATION option in the menu. The new firmware version should appear at the top of the screen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Upgrading the IRAS Software

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1: Save and close all programs and files open on the PC.

 

 

Step 2: Click on Start and then on Control Panel to open the Control Panel window.

 

 

Step 3: Double-click Add or Remove Programs icon to open the Add or Remove Programs window.

 

 

Step 4: Select the IRAS program and click Remove. A window will appear saying “Are you sure you want to completely remove Remote Administration System and all of its components?” Select YES.

 

 

Step 5: Restart the computer.

 

 

Step 6: Double-click the self extracting file IRAS.exe that was downloaded above. The RAS Setup Menu Screen will automatically open.

 

 

Step 7: Select the “Install IRAS Version 2.8.0” option.

 

 

Step 8: The IRAS will start the installation of version 2.8.0.

 

 

Step 9: When the Welcome screen appears, click on the NEXT button.

 

 

Step 10: When the Ready to Install window appears, click the INSTALL button to start the installation. An Installing window appears during the installation and is replaced by the Setup Completed window at the end of the process.

 

 

Step 11: In the Setup Completed window, select the YES button to reboot the PC.
Note: If you do not want to reboot your PC at this time you may select the NO button, however, the installation is not complete until the PC has rebooted.

 

 

Step 12: To confirm that the RAS software has been upgraded, double-click the IRAS icon on the desktop of the PC. In the upper left corner double-click on the word “Remote” in the “Remote Administration System” heading. A window appears and RAS Version 2.8.0 should be listed in the lower right corner.
